Professional Summary Description: "I am an experienced and highly professional technical expert. My extensive and wide-ranging specialist expertise in education systems worldwide, recognition issues, institutional and qualifications review, international education and quality assurance models, and the development of qualifications in line with international best practice has been firmly established throughout my extensive and varied experience over the past 15 years.
Much of my experience and knowledge was gained working for the UK National Agency for the recognition of overseas qualifications. All of my experience has been focussed on managing individual projects concerning the development of tools and processes that ensure the enhancement of quality, consistency, coherency and transparency in education systems. This has ranged from a review of national education systems against international best practice, the development of appropriate processes for quality assurance and review at government level to ensure international credibility, to a focus on the rigour and quality of specific qualifications developed and an evaluation of the robustness and capacity of individual institutions to deliver quality education.
This broad experience has enabled me to develop a wide range of expertise concerning international best practice in the quality assurance mechanisms across all types of education (General / Higher / TVET) and I am able to either provide or connect the parties to the appropriate support to develop processes, qualifications, staff and institutions accordingly.
Having worked at senior management level for more than 10 years with extensive experience working internationally I am very mindful of the different contexts and start points that each system is working from and the potential pitfalls the systems can face when aligning to international best practice or standards. On that basis I have developed a constructive, communicative and collaborative approach to work on all of my projects. This is a proven successful model enabling me to establish excellent working relationships with the organisation in question to achieve the agreed outcomes and objectives as required."
