National Teaching Award winner, 2009, and member, National Academy of Teaching Excellence, Ako Aotearoa. National Executive, New Zealand Geographical Society, 2003-10, and Managing Editor, New Zealand Geographer, 2004-11, and member of seven other editorial boards for UK, US and NZ based academic journals.
