Professional Summary Description: Mr. Farrukh Idrees is Manager, Quality Enhancement Cell (an internal quality assurance department) of FAST-National University, one of the most prestigious universities of Pakistan etc . Mr. Farrukh has served as consultant/trainer on various national and international projects including that of Asian Productivity Organization-Japan, Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, and National Productivity Organization etc. As experienced QA Professional of the leading university of the region, he has shared his QA expertise to many Higher Educational Institutions (both public and private sector) in Pakistan and abroad.
His most recent assignment was as consultant and trainer on Asian Productivity Organization-Japan mission to Fiji Higher Education Commission and educational institutions to help capacity building initiative of emerging quality assurance QA framework. As a seasoned quality practitioner he has more than 10 years of extensive work experience in developing internal quality management systems of universities/organizations for ensuring higher quality productivity. He has worked closely with all stakeholders of education institutions to address their required quality levels in terms of developing the appropriate internal quality assurance mechanism. He is a Chartered Quality Professional with proven quality management, organizational, commercial & financial skills developed in higher educational institutes and corporate organizations.
He is Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Singapore Quality Institute International) with distinction. He has worked as a six sigma black belt team lead/players in a project with General Electric, U.K. and Dewan Group of Industries. Further, he has imparted training on six sigma in higher education to Directors Quality Assurance of 30 public and private sector universities of Pakistan, as Higher Education Commission’s resource person.
Mr. Farrukh is qualified lead auditor/consultant of three international standards of excellence i.e. ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management Systems); ISO 14001:2004 (Environment Management Systems); BS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health and Safety). He has strong expertise in deploying all these international standards in the context of educational institutions for performance excellence. Mr. Farrukh has skills to integrate the above standards with the requirements of accreditation bodies, national ranking, and international quality ranking frameworks for ensuring higher productivity through structured mechanisms e.g. QS World Ranking, QS Asia Ranking, Times Higher Education Ranking etc.
He has successfully launched Quality Enhancement Cells (Internal Quality Assurance Mechanism) of two universities of Pakistan i.e. HITEC University and FAST National University. He is a frequent speaker/author in international conventions for quality management at national and international levels. He has represented Pakistan as quality and productivity expert in an international workshop conducted by Asian Productivity Organization-Japan in Indonesia 2013.
