Institutional Member Criteria:
Measure: Institutional Members are institutions of higher education in the region that are in good standing with the relevant quality assurance agency if one exists.

Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: The University of Karachi is a public sector organization. It was established under the Karachi University Act in 1951 and subsequently it is governed by the University of Karachi 1972 Government of Sindh Act no. XXV 1972. It is a government chartered and recognized university. The Higher Education Commission Government of Pakistan and all other public and private bodies recognize its degrees and diplomas. The Quality Enhancement Cell of the University of Karachi is a pioneer member of Quality Assurance Agency established by the Higher Education Commission Government of Pakistan. The Vision and Mission statement of the Quality Enhancement Cell aptly demonstrate the objectives and interest the University of Karachi has in quality assurance in higher education and research.
