Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: PROOF OF NUST INTEREST IN QA AFFAIRS
NUST has been quite serious and cautious about the quality of its programs since its establishment. While there was no Quality Assurance Agency in Pakistan, NUST had been conducting the Academic and R&D audits of its Constituent Institutions on its own.
Quality Assurance Agency was established in Pakistan by the Higher Education Commission in 2003. QAA established Quality Enhancement Cell in 10 public sector universities (including NUST) in Phase-I during FY 2006-07. We are pursuing the Quality Assurance process at NUST by conducting the Self Assessment of our Engineering, IT, Business and Medical programs, which will be followed by University's Internal Audit and External Review.
All NUST Engineering and IT programs have been accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and approved by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. All Bachelor Medical Programs (MBBS, BDS) and M Phil/Ph D in Basic Medical Sciences have been accredited by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC).
NUST is also an Associate Member of INQAAHE since Year 2005.
