Criteria Requirements for Institutional Member

Institutional Member Criteria:
Measure: Institutional Members are institutions of higher education in the region that are in good standing with the relevant quality assurance agency if one exists.
Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: IUBAT is approved by the Government of Bangladesh under the Non-Government University Act and Academic Programs have been recognized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). The health related program i.e. Nursing program has been approved by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Government of Bangladesh and accredited by the Bangladesh Nursing Council (BNC).

As to evidence, letter of approval from the honorable President of Bangladesh who is the ex-officio Chancellor and its translation are given in page 1 and 2, approval from the Ministry of Education is given in Page-3, List of Approved Non-Government Universities received from the Ministry of Education is given in page-4, approval letter from the UGC and its translation are given in page 5 and 6, the approval from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and its translation are given in page 7 and 8, letter of accreditation from the BNC and its translation are given in page 9 and 10 of the attached document.

IUBAT has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell which is continuously striving to enhance quality of academic activities. Around 100% of the graduates from the university are employed which is a reflection of the quality maintained. Through membership with number of academic bodies and associations across the world, IUBAT has gained the experience that such membership and association allows exchange of ideas and resources through meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, newsletters and other means which are rewarding for quality improvement and achieving excellence. As IUBAT is embarking into introducing more post graduate programs, it is firmly committed to sustain the quality of its education and keep on enhancing the same to achieve excellence. It is expected that membership with APQN will help IUBAT enhance and sustain quality assurance activities by means of providing guidelines and strategic suggestions as well as exchange of ideas and resources through conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars, newsletters and other means available. Eventually IUBAT plans to seek accreditation for its programs from the APQN.

Associate Member Criteria:
Measure:Associate Members are organisations with a major interest and active involvement in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education, but without the responsibility for assuring the quality of institutions, education programs, or external quality assurance agencies

Criteria Requirements for Intermediate Member

Measure: The agency is responsible for reviews at institutional or programme level of post-secondary education institutions or post-secondary quality assurance agencies
2 Criterion: Mission statement and objectives:
Measure: The agency has formulated a mission statement and objectives which are consistent with the nature of the agency

Proof of the organisation’s good standing with the local QA agency

Criteria Requirements for Observer

Criterion For Observers:
Measure: APQN accepts as Observers organisations outside the Asia-Pacific region, including: external quality assurance agencies; institutions with a major interest in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education; other regional networks that have major interests in and strong links with the region
