Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) is a public higher education institution established in 1991 by the Macao Government (Please refer to http://bo.io.gov.mo/bo/i/91/37/declei49.asp#49 for the decree that established MPI as a public higher education institution and to http://bo.io.gov.mo/bo/i/99/49/port469.asp#469 for the current MPI Charters).
In MPI there is a quality assurance system in place, which follows in principle the UK model of higher education (Please refer to http://www.ipm.edu.mo/teaching_learning/en/index.php for more details about the QA system). In 2013 MPI has gone through an Institutional Review conducted by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for Higher Education UK with ?Confidence? as its final judgment (Please refer to http://www.qaa.ac.uk/InstitutionReports/types-of-review/overseas/Documents/R6305-MPI.pdf for QAA?s report on MPI). Since 2011 several of our academic programmes have already been professionally validated. Examples include the computing programme validated by the UK?s Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the e-Commerce programme by the US?s Institute of Certified E-Commerce Consultants, and the Accounting programme by CPA Australia and ACCA UK (please refer to the PDF file attached for relevant certificates). At the moment, our engagement in programme validation is being further intensified with an aim to have all programmes professionally validated.
MPI is devoted to safeguarding and continuously enhancing the academic standard and quality of our educational provision, striving to provide quality higher education as a means to contribute to the development of the society. We believe that, by joining APQN, we can stay tuned to the latest Quality Assurance development in the region, gaining wider access to good practices, as well as having a better platform for knowledge sharing and exchange in the field of Quality Assurance with other institutions / agencies with an interest in QA in the Asia-Pacific region.
