Proof of recognition as a Higher Education Institution: Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) at Institute of Management Sciences
Introduction:
The Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences), based in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan is a young, innovative, and enterprising business school. IMSciences was established in 1995 to encourage education based on research and training in the fields of business administration, management sciences, and related disciplines. In 1999 IMSciences was granted an autonomous status and later in 2002 became a statutory entity through the promulgation of the Institute of Management Sciences Ordinance 2002 by the Government of KPK.
IQA at IMSciences:
In January 2011 IMSciences upon the directives of Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan (a regulatory body of the Government of Pakistan for higher education) established a quality enhancement cell (QEC) to initiate internal quality assurance (IQA) process. QEC at IMSciences is entrusted with the following mandate;
1. To promote public confidence that quality and standards of the award of degrees are enhanced and safeguarded.
2. To review quality standards of teaching and learning in each subject area.

9. To develop procedures such as approval of new programs, annual monitoring of programs and faculty, student feedback, subject review and institutional assessment.
