Criteria Requirements for Intermediate Member

1 Criterion: Nature of the operations of the agency:
Measure: The agency is responsible for reviews at institutional or programme level of post-secondary education institutions or post-secondary quality assurance agencies
Description: The NAEAC is mandated to organize a comprehensive program of accreditation of all degree programs of agriculture education institutions in private and public sector. The overall objective of accreditation is to improve the capacity of institutions and physical infrastructure to achieve and sustain academic excellence. In general, accreditation standards include review and assessment of the mission and purpose of the institute, academic programs, system of governance (faculty, staff, and student), quality of faculty and staff (teaching, service and research), student admissions and advisory services, library and information technology resources, physical and technological resources, financial management and quality assurance mechanisms, etc. Accreditation process is carried out through transparent and participatory process based on well defined standards, criteria and procedure established by Higher Education Commission (HEC). Besides accreditation, the Council is also mandated to organize awareness seminars, conduct regular Council meetings, develop roster of program evaluators/subject experts, develop and update the database, maintain its website, arrange publicity and advertisement and Annual Report depicting its annual activities and achievements.

2 Criterion: Mission statement and objectives:
Measure: The agency has formulated a mission statement and objectives which are consistent with the nature of the agency
â??Developing a dynamic and evolving mechanism of quality assurance of agriculture education to meet the current and emerging challenges of knowledge economyâ? is the mission statement of the Council. The mission statement and its objectives are consistent with nature of the operations of the Council.

Despite my best efforts, I am unable to upload the Annual Report of the Council because of its large size. However, three Annual Reports (FY 2007-08, 2008-09 & 2009-10) are available on our Council website i.e. www.naeac.org which can be downloaded and uploaded besides other useful documents of the Council.

Higher Education Commission (HEC) has established four Accreditation Councils (ACs). The National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) is one of them.
