Dear Prof. Dr. Jianxin Zhang thank you for asking this question. For HEEACT, all reviewers are required to attend reviewer’s training sessions (at the moment there are three sessions) before they go onto the review process. The training sessions are given by professionals who have rich experiences in accreditation processes and are familiar with the field of higher education in Taiwan. The sessions are held face-to-face which allows the potential reviewers to discuss and ask questions not only to and with the professionals who hold the sessions, but also with other reviewers who may also be experienced or may also have similar concerns or questions about the review process. This design of the training session allows more discussions to be stimulated and also allows professionals to share their expertise and experiences with the potential reviewers. Another advantage of these training sessions is that these reviewers may also get to build network with other reviewers during the training. This networking process can be essential for the potential future cooperation between the reviewers when they must work together in order to carry our quality document and on-site review, which both require decent cooperation, discussions and communication skills, during the accreditation process. Thus, it is possible to suggest that this type of training is important for reviewers before they start the review process. It may not be the best, but it is, for sure, benifitial and essential.

Thank you!
