Ms. Malini Nair serves as a Quality Assurance Policy and Planning Analyst at the Fiji Higher Education Commission and works towards the quality assurance processes specializing in quality education, policy, planning and systematic improvements for the higher education institutes.
She has held position at the Red Cross Society as a safety programme coordinator and worked closely with New Zealand Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent and International Committee of Red Cross for development of safety first aid programmes and branch developments initiatives for vulnerable communityâ€™s resilience to disasters. She has also worked for Universities and other government departments and is a registered trainer. Ms Malini has presented and published academic research paper on Globalization and Diversification of Quality Assurance of Higher Education and has done many other scientific researches as part of her studies and has presented in many platforms including international research on quality assurance agencies.
Ms Malini also coordinated one of the first APQN Review for her agency and banked the Fiji Higher Education Commission as one of the first country to be on the APQR which attained a substantial compliance. Through her networking and continuous collaboration with international agencies she has done research on the international higher education model and quality assurance system at similar agencies in Hong Kong and China and has been an observer in the external review panel for institutional accreditation.
Her research interest are based on quality and environment such as assuring Standards and Quality of Higher Education in the Asia Pacific Region, Cross border education, Pacific Initiatives on climate change and disaster resilience for Sustainable Development.
